Internship Stipend Program

MCMA awards up to three stipends annually to a MCMA affiliated city or county to hire an intern in the jurisdiction. The goal of this program is to provide individuals, passionate about public service, with real life experience working in local government management. The program is envisioned to promote and ensure a high level of effectiveness in local government administration and public service delivery.

Timeline for applications:

November-December - Solicitation of proposals from jurisdictions.
January-February - Education & Outreach Committee reviews applications and makes selections. Jurisdictions are notified. 

Applications will open November 3, 2025 and will be due December 15, 2025.
